New Caney High School is a public secondary school in New Caney, an unincorporated section of Montgomery County, Texas and is part of the New Caney Independent School District. The school has received recognition for its JROTC program, band, journalism program, DECA program and Academic Decathlon team. ==History== The school was originally housed in what is now the New Caney Middle School. A fire in 1987 destroyed much of the campus. A new campus was built at the current site. The old site on U.S. Highway 59 was rebuilt and became home to several schools in NCISD at different times. In the early 2000s, the New Caney High School Ninth Grade Annex was opened. In 2008 the University Interscholastic League switched New Caney from District 21-4A to District 14-5A.
